SOL Rooftop launches Golden Hour with $20 sunset cocktails and elevated snacks, nine floors above Adelaide

If there’s one thing Adelaidians won’t be taking for granted after a long and rainy winter, it’s a warm and sunny afternoon, and now there’s a new excuse to clock off early and head straight to the rooftop to truly soak it up.

SOL Rooftop has just launched Golden Hour, a new five-day-a-week happy hour bringing $20 signature cocktails and tempting snack pairings to its Level 9 rooftop.

Running from 4pm to 6pm every Wednesday to Sunday, as the name suggests, Golden Hour is designed perfectly for those golden afternoon hours when the sun is still hanging around and an after-work drink can very easily tip over into a full evening out.

And with cocktails, snacks and city views all on the cards, we’re not judging.

The Golden Hour drinks menu features five signature cocktails, including the Sol Mate, Pink Horizon, Palm Drama, WeHo Teahouse and Guava Grove, with each available for just $20 during the two-hour window.

To go alongside your drink, SOL has put together a premium snack menu that is a little more exciting than your average happy-hour bar fare.

Think blood lime-cured scallops with coconut, yuzu, chilli and lemon myrtle, white anchovy toast with capers and potato wafers, and Flinders beef skewers with pickled daikon and nori.

Because really, who would want to settle for some salted nuts or a sad serving of crisps after a good eight hours behind the desk?

That’s not to say there isn’t always a place for the classics, we just like the way SOL does them, a little more elevated.

From marinated olives with orange peel and native thyme to hand-cut chips with salt and vinegar seasoning, there’s still something for those who prefer to keep things a little more classic.

Whether you’re after a quick drink after work, a couple of cocktails before dinner, or simply an excuse to soak up the last of the afternoon sun, Golden Hour looks like a pretty good reason to make your way skywards.

Perched on Level 9 above Eos by SkyCity, SOL Rooftop offers plenty of space to settle in and watch the city shift from afternoon to evening… cocktail in hand, naturally.
