Wine of the week: Much More
A blend of Tempranillo, Garnacha and Syrah that brings together grapes from different Spanish vineyards under the same label.
Some wines seek to express a specific terroir, while others build their personality through a combination of different regions and grape varieties. Mucho Más, crafted by Félix Solís, belongs to this second group: a blend of Tempranillo, Garnacha, and Syrah from various Spanish wine-growing areas.
The winemaking process begins with old vineyards, whose grapes are hand-harvested to select the raw material that will shape the wine. Félix Solís's winery in Valdepeñas, where the family has been operating for decades, combines traditional winemaking techniques with large-capacity facilities and modern technology.
In the case of Mucho Más, the different varieties are vinified in stainless steel tanks for 10-14 days, with controlled temperatures between 26 and 28 ºC. Afterwards, the wine remains for three to four months in American oak barrels, until malolactic fermentation is complete.
This is when the final blend is determined, seeking to integrate the characteristics contributed by each variety and origin. The result is a red wine designed to offer intensity and structure without losing its fruity profile.
Much More: The Tasting
Visually, it presents a cherry red color, with a medium-high layer and a compact rim.
On the nose it is aromatic, elegant and of good intensity, with memories of ripe black fruit, undergrowth and balsamic notes, accompanied by hints of leather and vanilla.
On the palate, it is ample, lively, and complex, with prominent fruity and mineral notes and a hint of cocoa. The mid-palate is balanced, and the finish is persistent and elegant.
Due to its structure and aromatic profile, Mucho Más is especially suitable to accompany tapas and appetizers, cured cheeses, lean meats and game dishes, pairings that allow you to take advantage of both its fruity character and the notes provided by its time in the barrel.
