Classes have officially started for all Italian students, including my children, so I thought it would be a good idea to prepare an apple dessert to make their afternoon snack tasty and delicious.

Classes have officially started for all Italian students, including my children, so I thought it would be a good idea to prepare an apple dessert to make their afternoon snack tasty and delicious.

We are talking about a very simple recipe that has positively changed my children's snack time in every way, since this dessert allows me to introduce a little more fruit into their diet.

This is a recipe that I consider perfect because not only does it allow me to prepare a delicious dessert in just a few minutes, but on many occasions it has also allowed me to surprise my guests with a last-minute dessert that can be prepared at any time.

Let's take two apples and prepare a delicious dessert: the quick recipe.

Yes, as explained earlier, with this recipe you can prepare a dessert in just a few minutes that everyone will love, both young and old. It's also a perfect treat to enjoy with your children today, turning after-school snack time into a special occasion where you can listen to their stories about going back to school after the holidays. The ingredients we'll need for this apple dessert are:

  • 2 apples,
  • the juice of one lemon,
  • 150 grams of flour,
  • 120 grams of sugar,
  • 2 eggs,
  • half a packet of baking powder,
  • a pinch of salt,
  • Sugar and cinnamon for decoration.

Let's prepare the apple dessert together.

Let's start preparing our apple pie right away. Take the apples and, using a pipe cleaner, remove the core where the seeds are. This way, the apple will remain whole and we can slice it into rounds no more than half a centimeter thick, creating an almost circular shape. Place the apples in a bowl and add the juice of one strained, seedless lemon.

Let the fruit rest for about 10 minutes, just enough time to prepare the batter: put the two eggs in a bowl, beat them with a fork, and gradually add the flour, preferably using a fine-mesh sieve to avoid lumps. Do the same with the baking powder. Add the sugar, and you'll get a creamy batter.

Heat the oil in a large saucepan and, when it's very hot, dip the apple slices in the batter and fry them until golden brown. Once cooked, place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and sprinkle them generously with cinnamon and sugar. Let them cool slightly and serve them as an appetizer.
