At Baltra Bar, traveling is a pleasure to be enjoyed in every drink

Who doesn't love to travel? Sure, there's someone, but if we were to conduct a poll, the people who are passionate about the magic of exploring new worlds, discovering new cultures, tasting exotic flavors, witnessing unique sunsets in different destinations, and sharing experiences with people from other parts of the world would most likely win. All of this magic is captured in Baltra Bar's new me

Baltra Bar, located in the heart of the Condesa neighborhood, is a tribute to the spirit of exploration and constant evolution. Inspired by Darwin's voyages and the transformative power of travel, Baltra has developed its own unique identity: intimate, intelligent, and always evolving. For over a decade, this small bar has been a meeting place for those seeking expertly crafted cocktails, genuine hospitality, and a story that goes beyond the glass.

In this context, they present their new menu: Drinking is a journey. A menu that invites you to explore the world through the ritual of drinking, with cocktails designed to accompany specific moments of the journey, from an unexpected arrival to a night without a fixed destination.

At Baltra Bar, drinking is a journey

This new menu presents a guide that, in addition to being creative, is designed to convey the wonder of travel, not only physically, but also through the senses. Inspired by the idea that every journey—however short or absurd it may seem—deserves a drink to match, it presents a series of cocktails designed to address specific moments: what to drink after a long flight, how to warm up in an unfamiliar city, or simply what to order when you have no idea what the best option will be.

Each drink is a chapter in the logbook of a wandering, hedonistic, and methodical character who drinks intentionally, without needing a reason. An explorer of bars, rituals, and flavors who transforms each glass into an opportunity to rediscover the world.

In this letter, it's not a character who narrates: it's Baltra itself. A bar that has observed all kinds of travelers—curious, lost, hurried, nocturnal—and has learned when to offer a comforting cocktail, when to offer one that awakens, and when to offer one that simply accompanies.

Drinking is a journey: “An unnecessary guide for the modern traveler, it’s our way of sharing that knowledge. It doesn’t pretend to be useful, but maybe it is. It doesn’t seek to provide answers, but it offers suggestions. Through this liquid logbook, Baltra proposes cocktails for specific moments of the journey, unsolicited advice, and (unnecessary) reasons to toast,” describe the people in charge of this bar.

Here are some examples of this liquid log:

Jet lag: what to drink after a long trip: Gin Mare, Italicus, chardonnay wine, Cocchi Americano, and galangal cordial. Refreshing and fragrant, it's that first breath that aligns body, soul, and lost suitcase.

"Rebirth" Plan: the best hangover cure: Patrón Blanco Tequila, Ancho Reyes, green Chartreuse, cucumber, and clarified tomato. It doesn't cure: it reinvents. A cocktail that awakens the body and the appetite for a new day.

Last Doubt: a drink before doing something crazy: Mezcal The Lost Explorer, butter and raicilla (fat wash), coffee liqueur, white cacao, and cold brew. Strong, enveloping, and purposeful. If you're going to do it… do it with style.

Plan “B”: what to order when you don't know what to order: Havana Club 7 rum, Yucatecan lime sherbet, pineapple sorbet. A safe bet with tropical personality and cool humor.
