A Simpsons-Themed Pop-up Brings Moe’s Tavern and Krusty Burger to Two Knox-Henderson Bars
A block of North Henderson Avenue will be transformed into Springfield — hometown of The Simpsons — with a pair of pop-ups starting next month.

Divey drinking tavern the Whippersnapper, at 1806 McMillan Avenue and Henderson, will transform into Moe’s Tavern, Homer Simpson’s regular happy hour haunt. Next door, restaurant High Fives will turn into Krusty Burger, the show’s fast-food chain known for its meat-flavored sandwich. The pop-ups start on Friday, June 11, and will last for two months.
The pop-ups are the work of This and That Hospitality — currently calling themselves “Springfield Hospitality” — the restaurant group that owns both venues, plus a handful of others in Dallas. It’s not the first time This and That has hosted pop-ups. The Whip was previously the site of temporary bars inspired by the TV shows The Office, Breaking Bad, Family Guy, and the Harry Potter franchise.
In a Facebook post, This and That co-founder Phillip Schanbaum writes the company has wanted to do a Simpsons pop-up since the very beginning, citing the show’s three-decade (and counting) run, and its place in pop culture history.
“The Simpsons sets the bar for any and all animated series,” he writes. “With so many iconic Simpsons moments we wanted to rope in our sister spot next door and really go big on this one!”
No word yet on what the menus will be, but expect Duff Beer, Flaming Moes, Krusty Burgers, and maybe some tomacco. The pop-up will also feature interactive experiences and photo-ops. This and That says costumes are encouraged.
During the pop-up, Krusty Burger (a.k.a. High Fives) will be open from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. Tuesday through Friday, and 2 p.m. to 2 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. Moe’s Tavern (The Whippersnapper) will be open 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. Wednesday through Saturday.
