La Tarte Tropézienne Opens Up Its First Location in the U.S.
One of Dallas’s spots for sweets to go is La Tarte Tropézienne, a Saint-Tropez bakery that picked Dallas as the location for its first establishment worldwide to open outside of France. The D allas Morning News spoke with Rebecca Velázquez and Jan Marien, the couple who brought the patisserie to downtown Dallas. The couple decided to go ahead and open on April 3 in the face of the coronavirus crisis, but with a limited menu for contactless pickup and delivery. “This was something that we needed to turn over fairly quickly because we have to do something to generate money,” Velázquez told. “We planned it in about a week.”
So far, it’s going well. “We’ve been very pleased,” Velázquez told the Dallas Morning News. “It’s just a matter of trying to keep the momentum going.” Check out the menu with sandwiches, tarts, croissants, caviar, wine, and more.
