Walnut barmak
Condensed milk and walnut cake is a Venezuelan nut dessert that captivates with its simplicity and rich flavor. In Venezuela, this cake is a true classic: it's baked for birthdays, family celebrations, and simply for Sunday tea.

- peeled walnuts – 500 g
- sour cream – 200 g
- butter – 50 g + 1.5 tbsp.
- salt – to taste
- sifted flour – 300 g
- sugar – 500 g
- powdered sugar – 3 tbsp.
Method · 1 h
- Mix sour cream, 1.5 tablespoons of melted butter, and salt. Gradually add flour and knead into a thick dough. Roll out thinly and cut into squares.
- Grind the walnuts in a blender until finely ground and toast in a preheated dry frying pan, stirring, for 4–5 minutes. Remove from heat, cool, and mix with sugar and the remaining butter.
- Spread the filling on the dough squares and roll them up. Place them in a greased baking dish and bake for 30–35 minutes at 180°C. Dust the barmak with powdered sugar before serving.
