Meatballs in a creamy cheese sauce

Meatballs are balls of minced meat larger than meatballs but smaller than chopped patties. These dishes differ not only in their shape but also in their preparation method. Meatballs are never...

  • Refined vegetable oil
  • Wheat flour
  • Onions
  • Chicken egg
  • Salt
  • Garlic
  • Milk
  • Pine nuts
  • White bread without crust
  • Dill
  • Parsley
  • Cream 9%

Method · 30 min
  1. Wash the meat, dry it, and cut it into random pieces. Use a food processor to grind it into minced meat.
  2. Soak the bread in milk, then squeeze it out lightly. Peel and chop the onion and garlic.
  3. Fry the nuts in a dry, heated frying pan, stirring, for 4 minutes. Then chop into crumbs. Place the minced meat in a bowl, add the soaked bread, onion, garlic, and nuts. Season with salt and pepper, beat in the egg, and mix well.
  4. Roll the resulting minced meat into balls approximately 3.5 cm in diameter. Roll each ball in flour and fry in hot oil for 2 minutes on each side.
  5. Wash the greens and chop them together with the cheese.
  6. Heat the cream until it reaches a boil, add the herbs and cheese, and blend. Pour into the saucepan with the meatballs. Reduce the heat and simmer uncovered, turning occasionally, for 10 minutes.

Meatballs with rice and tomato sauce are a favorite among children: these meatballs are so tender that they don't require much chewing. Adults also enjoy this dish, as it evokes nostalgic memories of delicious home-cooked meals. It's great that these meatballs are easy to make and use readily available ingredients. What's more, the meat can be varied! You can make them with pork only, or you can use chicken or turkey.

Meatballs in sour cream sauce in a frying pan are a great idea for a family lunch or dinner. You're probably wondering, how is this ground meat dish different from the usual cutlets? They're identical in composition: meat, onions, and bread. It's all in the shape. Meatballs are small balls, about the size of a walnut or slightly larger. They're breaded in flour and then either pan-fried or lightly baked in the oven. The golden-brown rounds are topped with a delicate sour cream or tomato sauce and simmered, covered, until done. The flour in which the meatballs are coated creates a thick and rich sauce. Rice is traditionally served as a side dish. They pair perfectly with the thick sour cream sauce!

Many of us have loved meatballs with rice in tomato sauce since childhood, as this simple dish was eagerly prepared at home, in kindergarten, and at school. Of course, the "balls" lovingly molded by mothers or grandmothers were much tastier: these cutlets clearly contained more meat. So, we decided to provide a detailed recipe for meatballs with rice so you can delight your children with them. The ground meat for these cutlets is, of course, best prepared at home by mincing good pieces of beef and pork. You can season it with any other dried herbs, not just the khmeli-suneli recommended in the recipe.

Chicken meatballs in a creamy sauce are typically simmered on the stovetop. We suggest baking this dish in the oven, sprinkling them with grated cheese before baking! This creates a beautiful crust on the creamy sauce, making it incredibly appetizing. As for the meatball filling, we decided to make it ourselves: it's tastier. Plus, grinding it from chicken meat with a meat grinder or blender takes just a few minutes. Incidentally, the meatballs are so tender that even kids who aren't usually fond of meat will love them.
