Scavolini's story is one of the beautiful examples of Italian entrepreneurial brilliance. Founded in Pesaro in 1961, thanks to the entrepreneurial spirit of brothers Valter and Elvino Scavolini, the company has transformed itself in just a few years into one of the country's leading industrial players and is a leading exporter of modular kitchens. Over the decades, it has successfully reinvented itself while maintaining a strong identity, the same identity that soon made it "the most beloved by Italians." From its inception, one of Scavolini's goals has been to improve the quality of people's domestic lives with beautiful and functional solutions, distinguished by distinctive Italian design and high-performance technologies. In 2012, the kitchen production was joined by bathroom collections, in 2015 by living room solutions, and in 2019 by walk-in closets, culminating in the current offering of outdoor kitchens. The brand's journey through a total home look is told in the 2021 "60 Years Together" communications campaign and its accompanying commercial, which explores the close relationship between the brand and its people, a journey that finds its peak expression in the claim: "From the kitchen to the bathroom, from the living room to the walk-in closet: we became home together." This journey was also made possible thanks to the collaboration between Scavolini and leading designers, including Nendo, Ora-ïto, Diesel Creative Team, Giugiaro Design, King&Miranda Design, Karim Rashid, Michael Young, Rainlight Studio, Fabio Novembre, and Luca Nichetto, who contributed to the creation of models that have always been highly appreciated by the public.
Ready for the next challenges
The need for an ecological transition and sustainable production has not caught Scavolini off guard, having been committed to this since the early 2000s, when the company understood the importance of implementing a system based on the UNI EN ISO 14001 standard. In 2011, the Sunload project was implemented, thanks to which most of the production plant was covered with photovoltaic panels. Furthermore, Scavolini uses Idroleb eco-friendly panels for the structure of all its collections and has also obtained CQP certification, which attests to the circularity of its products, along with the coveted FSC®-C168055 certification. Short for Forest Stewardship Council, the international FSC certification is based on the assignment of the Chain of Custody (CoC), which certifies the traceability of cellulose-based materials, guaranteeing their origin from forests managed with full respect for the environment, society, and economic sustainability.
A life to tell
To mark its 60th anniversary, Scavolini has dedicated a biographical novel to its president, titled Valter Scavolini. Life as a Great Enterprise. The book tells an all-Italian story, in which the country's events intertwine with the company's growth, through personal anecdotes, successes, and decisions that have allowed Scavolini to become what it is today. We also wanted to retrace those decades, selecting a particularly significant Scavolini kitchen model for each decade and a recipe from our archives that best represents the period.
