With Air France, your journey begins with haute cuisine
For those who choose Air France, the journey begins with the flight, because the French national airline has brought style, elegance, and hospitality to 10,000 meters, but also—and above all—the great cuisine of its country.
The Michelin-starred chefs who design Air France's menus
Around twenty French Michelin-starred chefs now oversee Air France's Business and La Première in-flight menus, and in their menus created for the airline, each has interpreted the richness of their home region: Glenn Viel (three-starred at L'Oustau de Baumanière in Les Baux-De-Provence) brings his Provençal flair, Arnaud Lallement (three-starred at L'Assiette Champenoise in Reims) masterfully showcases the richness of the Champagne region. Emmanuel Renaut (three-starred at Flocons de Sel in Megève) showcases Haute-Savoie with his masterful creativity, while Mauro Colagreco (three-starred at Mirazur in Menton, and named Best Chef in the World 2019 by the 50 Best) creates the perfect blend of his native Argentina and the French Riviera.
For flights departing from major global cities outside France, French chefs are creating tasting menus that combine local products with French cuisine. One prime example: Dominique Crenn, the first three-Michelin-starred chef in the United States, creates the Business and La Première menus for flights departing from American Première airports.
Air France's sustainability (and not just in the kitchen)
The attention to detail is the same as those of these great chefs in their starred kitchens: Air France dishes use only seasonal products, 100% French for flights departing from Paris, and always meticulously selected. Fish, for example, comes only from certified marine fisheries, and every menu includes a 100% vegetarian dish. These small, big steps demonstrate the company's commitment to an increasingly sustainable future: food waste is also minimized with a new menu management system that allows only what's needed to be brought on board, and last but not least, single-use plastic has been reduced by 90%.
Details for everyone, even the little ones
This attention to detail remains the same in Economy and Premium Economy, where Air France offers satisfying and 100% French cuisine, whether in full meals or bistro-style dishes, always inspired by the region to honor the culinary richness of the country's regions and offer a significant taste of French joie de vivre. Even with children: there are 100% organic menus created especially for infants and children departing from Paris, complete with baby food and compotes. And, for older children, large platters include a salad, a hot dish, cheese, fruit puree, and dessert, designed to make the meal more indulgent and fun.
Air France: The Art of French Hospitality in Flight
What would a trip to France be without wine and champagne? That's why Air France offers the finest in every cabin: a ritual aboard its aircraft, begun in 1985. A million bottles of champagne are uncorked on board each year, and now the wines are selected by Xavier Thuizat, France's best sommelier for 2022, who has carefully selected them, taking into account how they can transform the in-flight tasting experience.
The welcome remains unchanged, thanks to cabin crew trained to make passengers feel as comfortable as if they were in a fine restaurant, and—last but not least—the atmosphere. Because Air France embodies France in every detail on its aircraft, even in the way the table settings are set. In Business and La Première, cutlery from the maison Cristofle and Limoges porcelain tableware designed exclusively by Jean-Marie Massaud are featured.
The journey within the journey: the La Première lounge
A tip? Enhance your experience by letting Air France pamper you even before boarding, in the lounges that have become a must-visit for haute cuisine enthusiasts. Just one example: in the La Première lounge at Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle Airport, you'll be greeted by the creations of the world's most Michelin-starred chef, Alain Ducasse. And in this private, quiet, and refined space, while you wait for your flight, you can say you've made another journey by tasting (at least) one dish that has made the history of global haute cuisine.
