Chocolate Mousse with Oranges

Velvety chocolate and zesty citrus come together in this delectable Chocolate Mousse with Oranges. It is the perfect marriage of rich, smooth chocolate mousse and the vibrant tang of fresh oranges, creating a harmonious dance of flavors on your palate.

Ingredients · Servings 3
  • 200 gr dark chocolate
  • 50 gr salted butter
  • 250 gr pure cream
  • 3 eggs
  • 20 gr maple syrup
  • 80 gr speculoos biscuit
  • 1 orange
Method · 55 min
  1. In a large bowl, melt chocolate with butter, set aside.
  2. In a second bowl: whip the cream and maple syrup to soft peak, keep in fridge.
  3. Separate the egg yolk from egg whites.
  4. In a third bowl, place the egg whites and start whisking.
  5. Add gradually the sugar to form a light meringue.
  6. Mix the egg yolk into the melted chocolate.
  7. Combine all three bowls.
  8. First add the egg white into the chocolate, keep it as airy as possible.
  9. Then add the whipped cream in the chocolate, slowly, to keep a light consistency.
  10. Pour the mousse in the glasses and set in the fridge.
  11. Peel the orange and cut the segments.
  12. Take your speculoos and break them into crumbs.
  13. It works really well if you put the biscuits in a large zip‑lock bag and crush them.
  14. arrange them on top of the mousse as pictured and serve!
