Black Forest cake

Black Forest cake

Ingredientes · Raciones For 1 cake
  • 150 g dark chocolate
  • 1 glass of cherries
  • 250g butter
  • 200 g caster sugar
  • 1 pack vanilla sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 400 g plain wheat flour
  • 1 packet baking powder
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 2 tbsp cherry brandy
  • 100ml milk
  • 2 tbsp Dutch-style cocoa
  • 2 tbsp cherry brandy
  • 200 g dark chocolate
  • 100g white chocolate
  • 200 g whipping cream
Método · 1 h 45 min
  1. Chop the chocolate into pieces and carefully melt it in a bowl over a water bath.
  2. Drain the cherries. Set aside the juice and a few cherries for later.
  3. Beat the butter with the sugar and vanilla sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time. Sift the flour with the baking powder and salt and fold into the mixture with a spatula. Finally, fold in the cherry brandy and milk.
  4. Divide the dough into two parts. Stir the cooled but still liquid chocolate and cocoa into one half of the dough. Stir half of the cherries into the chocolate dough and half into the light dough.
  5. Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  6. Pour the light batter into a buttered and floured cake tin and layer the dark batter on top. Mix the batters lightly with a fork to create a marbled effect.
  7. Bake in the oven for 50–60 minutes.
  8. Let cool slightly and then turn out onto a wire rack. If desired, drizzle cherry liqueur over the cake to taste.
  9. For decoration, melt dark and white chocolate separately over a water bath.
  10. First cover the cake with dark chocolate and let it harden. Then decorate with white chocolate and let it harden.
  11. Before serving, garnish with whipped cream and remaining cherries.

A rich chocolate cake inspired by the legendary Black Forest cake combines a soft marbled dough, juicy cherries and a strong chocolate flavor. The festive dessert is crowned with chocolate icing, whipped cream and cherries, which make it spectacular and irresistible.
