Vinòforum 2026: Rome hosts 800 wineries and 3,200 labels
Vinòforum 2026, Rome relaunches the wine challenge: a week of tastings, chefs, and new trends.
From September 7th to 13th, Piazza di Siena will host the twenty-third edition of the event organized by Emiliano De Venuti. The program features over 3,200 wines, signature dinners, masterclasses, and events dedicated to pizza and extra virgin olive oil.
September confirms itself as the month when Rome becomes the heart of Italian food and wine. After a summer marked by festivals and events across the peninsula, Vinòforum 2026 will once again kick off the season of wine events, drawing producers, industry professionals, and enthusiasts from across Italy to the capital.
From September 7th to 13th, the event will return to Piazza di Siena, in Villa Borghese, for its twenty-third edition.
Over the years, the event has gradually expanded its identity, transforming from a simple tasting event to a meeting place for wineries, restaurateurs, consortia, and the public. This evolution also reflects the changes in the winemaking industry, which is increasingly focused on creating opportunities for dialogue between those who produce and those who talk about, sell, or consume wine.
The 2026 edition will boast impressive numbers: 800 companies and consortia from across the country are expected, with over 3,200 labels for tasting. This mosaic will span diverse territories, grape varieties, and production styles, offering visitors the opportunity to create a true journey through contemporary Italian winemaking.
Masterclasses and tastings: wine at the heart of the story
The heart of the event will remain the program of guided tastings and educational events. Every evening, the Wine Top Tastings will guide the public through the discovery of major appellations and emerging territories, with two daily events dedicated to Italian and international wineries. Alongside the masterclasses, the Casa Barolo meetings will also return, focusing on the wines of the Langhe and one of the most representative appellations on the national scene.
But the offerings won't stop at wine. Among the key players in the 2026 edition will be the Parmigiano Reggiano Consortium, which will accompany the event with tastings and learning opportunities ahead of the debut of the first Parmigiano Reggiano Taster Course in Rome, scheduled for this fall. Unaprol and Evooschool have also confirmed their presence, guiding visitors through the discovery of Italian extra virgin olive oil and its various cultivars.
Signature dinners look at the human factor
One of the most exciting new features of the 2026 edition is the series of The Night Dinners, organized in collaboration with La Molisana. The chosen theme, "Human Factor. Past. Present. Future," focuses on the role of chefs' sensitivity and experience, at a time when the debate on technological innovation and artificial intelligence is also affecting the restaurant industry.
Each dinner will be structured as a narrative journey in multiple acts, enriched with images, music, and pairings designed to enhance the dishes and wines being tasted. This format aims to transform the meal into an immersive experience, intertwining cuisine, memory, and creativity.
The same dialogue between tradition and modernity will also characterize the Temporary Restaurants, which this year will revolve around the theme "Rome: Roots and Future." Over twenty restaurants will present forty recipes over seven days, reinterpreting the capital's gastronomic heritage through contemporary languages and techniques.
From pizza to olive oil: Italian flavor in all its forms.
Alongside wine, Vinòforum 2026 will continue to dedicate ample space to the art of baking. The Pizza d'Autore format, created in collaboration with Molino Caputo, will bring six special evenings to Rome, featuring some of Italy's most respected master pizza chefs, who will discuss dough, flour, and quality ingredients.
The event will also host the national final of La Città della Pizza, a competition that aims to showcase the new generations of Italian bread-making. On Sunday, September 13th, seven finalists will compete for the title of best emerging pizza chef of the year.
According to Emiliano De Venuti, CEO and organizer of the event, Vinòforum will continue to showcase "the best of Italian production, with a few international touches," consolidating Piazza di Siena's role as a meeting place for local communities, businesses, and the public.
The official inauguration will be held on Monday, September 7th at 7:00 PM, with officials and industry representatives in attendance. Opening hours are 7:00 PM to midnight; Fridays and Saturdays until 1:00 AM.
