New series tells London’s remarkable story through pubs
Award-winning beer writer Will Hawkes has launched a new online series that focuses on fascinating London pubs, past and present.

The first two editions are now available to read, focusing on Charlie Brown’s - a now-forgotten Limehouse dockers’ pub that was the East End’s most famous - and Earls Court’s Coleherne, at one time the world’s most legendary gay pub.
“The story of London is the story of pubs,” says Hawkes, twice winner of the Fortnum and Mason Drinks Writer of the Year award. “I think this is the perfect way of shining light on London today and in the past.”
