Three courses with regional ingredients in the Ingelheim wine cellar

The team at Engler's Restaurant, led by manager Maximilian Fritz, will prepare the autumnal three-course menu. After an amuse-bouche, the evening begins with pumpkin cream soup with carrots, ginger, pumpkin seed oil, and pumpkin seeds. This is followed by a ragout of Rhine-Hessian pasture-raised beef with a delicate celery cream, wild broccoli, and truffles. A vegetarian option is goat cheese ravioli with pumpkin cream sauce, pumpkin seeds, and a wild herb salad. For dessert, there is panna cotta with figs from the local winery and a fruit coulis.

Fritz and his team charge only the cost price for the menu. It's one of many contributions that ensure as much of the ticket price as possible ends up in the donation fund. "The garden not only grows important herbs and ingredients for fresh and healthy cooking, but it's also a vital habitat," explains Fritz. With this, the restaurateur draws a connection between the enjoyment on the plate and what the new garden is intended to offer the young residents: joy, connection, and shared experiences outdoors.

Winemaker Kristian Dautermann, who spearheaded the organization of the evening, is also contributing, providing a sparkling wine reception and selected wines from his vineyard. Other companies and supporters are providing beverages, venues, technical equipment, and other services. According to the organizers, this allows approximately two-thirds of the ticket price to directly benefit the charity.

Magic between soup, main course and dessert

Hannes Freytag and Vicente Noguera will create magical moments. The two Wiesbaden-based vice world champions of magic bring their art up close to the guests. Their tongue-in-cheek announcements range from "miraculous money multiplication" to "flying banknotes." They, too, are supporting the project: the artists are donating their entire fee. The magicians were booked by the Ingelheim-based Zeitensprung Theater.

The festivities begin at 6 p.m. with a champagne reception and enchanting surprises in the conservatory. At 7 p.m., a three-course meal will be served in the vaulted cellar, with magicians performing between courses. A prize wheel with attractive prizes, themed "Perfect Together," will also be available.

“We are all working together to ensure that the nearly 50 young people at St. Martin’s House can also enjoy wonderful moments together in the new garden,” says Dautermann. Indeed, the benefit evening thrives on this collaboration: restaurants, winemakers, artists, businesses, and other supporters contribute their respective resources so that this shared evening can generate the greatest possible contribution to the new garden.

Together for the new garden

The initiator of the circle of friends is Tina Badrot, managing director of J. Molitor Immobilien GmbH. The company is supporting the evening as the main sponsor. "I am delighted by the generous commitment of the many supporters and that so many tickets have already been sold," says Badrot. Together with other sponsors, they have ensured that as large a share of the proceeds as possible will benefit the children.

Ingelheim's Culture and Marketing GmbH (IKUM) provides support with advertising and ticket sales and makes the venue and technical equipment available free of charge. District Administrator Thomas Barth and Mayor Eveline Breyer have assumed patronage of the event. County Councilor Almut Schultheiß-Lehn is also a member of the St. Martin House's active support group.

What brings the many participants together this evening is ultimately intended to be created in the St. Martin house: a garden as a place for encounters, movement and shared experiences, and a bit more quality of life for the young people living there.

Approximately 18 tickets are still available for the benefit evening on Thursday, October 22nd. A ticket costs €120 and includes a sparkling wine reception, a three-course meal, selected wines, water, and the evening's entertainment. Tickets are available through the Ingelheim Wine Cellar.
