The Condado de Huelva Wine Route, recognized as European Project of the Month 2026
The Condado de Huelva Development Association has been awarded the 'European Project of the Month 2026' recognition thanks to the work carried out in the Destination Tourism Sustainability Plan (PSTD) for the Condado de Huelva Wine Route.
The award, granted by the Europe Direct Huelva information center (part of the Huelva Provincial Council), was presented during the traditional Rite of the Birth of Wine at the 65th Wine Harvest Festival in La Palma del Condado. The event was attended by the president of the Provincial Council, David Toscano, and the mayor of the town, Rocío Moreno, who presented the award to the president of the Commonwealth, Paco Pérez, and the manager of the Commonwealth and of the Huelva County Wine Route, Adrián Moreno.
This initiative, promoted by the Europe Direct network in Andalusia, seeks to give visibility to those provincial projects and entities that stand out for their contribution to the European integration process and sustainable development through community funds.
Boosting tourism and regional identity
The president of the Commonwealth, Paco Pérez, highlighted the boost this award provides to the local community, stating that “this recognition is an impetus to continue promoting our wine culture and the resources that make the County of Huelva a territory with its own unique identity. The County of Huelva Wine Route is a real opportunity to generate high-quality tourism experiences and revitalize the economy of our municipalities.”
For his part, the manager of the organization, Adrián Moreno, emphasized the importance of networking between public administrations and the private sector because "it supports collaborative work. Our goal is to continue working hand in hand with the municipalities, wineries, and local stakeholders so that the Wine Route continues to grow and consolidate the Huelva County as a leading destination both within and outside the province."
The PSTD Ruta del Vino Condado de Huelva has been coordinated by the Mancomunidad de Desarrollo Condado de Huelva and financed with European NextGeneration EU funds, through the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan of the Government of Spain, coordinated in Andalusia by the Ministry of Tourism and Foreign Affairs of the Junta de Andalucía.
