Established in 2016 by husband-and-wife duo Simon and Annabelle Hunton, Nobnocket Boutique Inn offers a European-inspired oasis in Vineyard Haven, just a short distance from downtown, beaches, and the ferries.
The inn sits on Aldworth Road, where turkeys and chickens occasionally roam—a reminder of the Vineyard’s abundant farmland. Nobnocket Boutique Inn was among the first hotels worldwide to receive the prestigious Michelin Key recognition, an honor that highlights the world’s finest hotels.
A taste of Europe on Martha’s Vineyard
Hailing from the London and Liverpool and formerly residents of the Netherlands, Simon and Annabelle Hunton transport guests to Europe through their hospitality and décor. Bits of New England are intertwined throughout the property, but the stunning collection of Delftware, abundance of tea, and U.K. memorabilia make you feel as though you’ve flown across the Atlantic —all without leaving Massachusetts.
The Huntons’ love of travel is reflected in the unique artifacts displayed throughout the inn, including a mirror that was once part of New York City’s famous Flatiron Building.
The complimentary breakfast is where the experience truly begins to feel European. It can be served anywhere on the property, and on pleasant days, the patio—with its serene fountains and lush greenery—makes an ideal breakfast spot.
Annabelle spearheads the kitchen, preparing everything from Mediterranean eggs on a toasted English muffin to stuffed chocolate-banana French toast with wild blueberry coulis. The breakfast spread also includes a personalized Twinings tea assortment, freshly roasted Chilmark Coffee, freshly squeezed fruit juice, a homemade yogurt parfait, and the Nobnocket signature: a wellness shot.
Turndown service includes a cloche filled with freshly baked cookies and a handwritten note listing the weather, sunrise and sunset times, and suggestions for things to explore the following day.

History of Nobnocket Boutique Inn
Before it became a stylish boutique inn on Martha’s Vineyard, Nobnocket Boutique Inn served as the summer home and medical practice of the esteemed Dr. Gary Hough. The New Bedford physician established the home in 1908, treating patients in its richly appointed mahogany rooms—a far cry from today’s modern medical offices.
Dr. Hough was the uncle of legendary writer and longtime Vineyard Gazette editor Henry Beetle Hough.

Vineyard Haven is just that: a haven in the town of Tisbury on Martha’s Vineyard. Just around the corner from the inn, is the Martha’s Vineyard Museum. Visit Catboat Coffee Co. for delicious Lebanese-inspired food and beverages near Vineyard Haven Harbor, a great spot to settle on a bench and catch the sunrise.
Stroll through the unique boutiques along Main Street, then stop by S&S Kitchen for lunch. Several beaches are near the inn—some within walking distance and others a short bike ride, drive, or trip on the free island shuttle away. Owen Park Beach is right in town, while other popular nearby options include Joseph Sylvia State Beach, which makes for a beautiful bike ride along Beach Road.
