“Off-topic!” Joachim Llambi lashes out at fellow judges over Henssler's paella

"That's tasty. But not typical." Joachim Llambi certainly makes distinctions. And this time he was truly an expert. After all, although Llambi was born in Duisburg to a German mother and a Spanish father, he still holds Spanish citizenship. And if there's one thing Llambi really knows about, besides dancing, style, and so on, it's Spanish national dishes. And so it came to pass during the penultimate "Grill den Henssler Summer Special" (VOX) that tempers flared over a paella.

Llambi had dissected the main course and voted 6:5 for the celebrity paella. Fellow judge Jana Ina Zarrella, however, praised Henssler's paella to the skies and awarded it 9 points. "That was fun, it was a very good course," she gushed. Llambi immediately retorted: "But it's not paella." Did Alexander Herrmann, the third member of the judging panel, make everything right again? No.

Herrmann also judged the variations of the "Spanish refrigerator safari with a long tradition" very clearly (9:6) in favor of Henssler. Llambi already tilted his head doubtfully, but when Herrmann also attested to the greater authenticity of Henssler's paella, he burst out: "Completely missed the point!"

Mallorca stars no chance against Steffen Henssler

Steffen Henssler didn't care. He won the main course 23:19 and was thus already uncatchably on the road to victory after the third of four courses, with a score of 66:49. Indeed, apart from plenty of energy and good humor, the three celebrities didn't have much to offer this time. In the "Mallorca Special," the party singers and Ballermann stars Isi Glück, Frenzy, and Julian Sommer competed. Although they appeared, as their cooking coach Mario Kotaska attested, "very motivated," in the end they only won one course (the improvisation course) and one of the three kitchen competitions.

Previously, presenter Laura Wontorra's main concern was "Who pre-gamed more: the three of them or our charcoal?", but after the 61:85 score, the question was more about how much alcohol the Mallorca stars would need to wash away their cooking frustration.

Besides the notoriously critical Llambi, Alexander Herrmann also stood out as a complainer this time. It's well known that the Franconian Michelin-starred chef isn't a cheese lover. His argument: "Anything that continues to stink on the tongue, I can taste and categorize – but I won't order it." And his ultimate enemy seems to be goat cheese. "It tastes like you're biting a goat's backside," Herrmann remarked after tasting the appetizer (goat cheese roll with grilled fruit and vegetables).

Herrmann couldn't stop complaining. Since he was already doing a Mallorca special, he rewrote the lyrics to a Mickie Krause hit: "Go get some beer, it tastes awful again."

Joachim Llambi was even surprised by her affinity for Mallorca. "Do you perform there too?" he asked mockingly, and immediately answered himself: "I can easily imagine you in a gold thong like that."

Jana Ina Zarrella, not so much. She just seemed exhausted: "Just eat," she pleaded. The judge, however, reached her limits with Isi Glück's dessert (a boozy sponge cake with meringue). While the men criticized the insufficient amount of alcohol (Herrmann: "You could serve that in kindergarten – but not at a parents' evening"), she remarked: "I definitely tasted alcohol. And that's enough. I never drink alcohol." Alexander Herrmann immediately countered: "If you're a beginner, nobody can help that."

Next week is the season finale. Presenter Charlotte Engelhardt, reality star Calvin Kleinen, and RTL presenter Jan Köppen, under the guidance of chef coach Hans Neuner, will attempt to hand Steffen Henssler his first defeat after 19 consecutive GDH victories.
