Roso Restaurant: A Taste of Indonesia’s Culinary Heritage

Roso Restaurant: A Taste of Indonesia’s Culinary Heritage

At Bali Beach Hotel, The Heritage Collection, Roso Restaurant invites diners to discover the diverse flavours of the Indonesian archipelago through a menu rooted in tradition, regional identity, and cultural heritage.

“We believe in creating an experience that connects people with the roots of Indonesian cuisine, celebrating not only the flavours but also the cultural richness that unites us as a nation.”

“Roso” means “flavour” or “feeling” in Javanese, which reflects the restaurant’s approach to Indonesian cuisine. Instead of representing a single regional cooking practice, it explores the full breadth of ingredients, spices, and traditions from the highlands of Sumatra and the kitchens of Java to the coastal flavours of Bali.

The concept also connects to Indonesia’s first president, Sukarno, and his vision of preserving the country’s cultural richness while bringing its diverse communities together under the spirit of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika. At Roso, this idea is expressed through food, with regional specialities presented as part of a broader Indonesian culinary story.

The restaurant’s interiors incorporate textures and artistic details inspired by the country’s tapestry, while indoor and outdoor seating allows guests to dine amid lush greenery and the gentle ocean breeze. The chill atmosphere provides a fitting backdrop for a dining experience that balances familiar traditional cuisine with a modern look.

“Roso offers a distinctive dining experience; every dish tells a story of place, tradition, and connection,” said Chef Prima, Executive Sous Chef. “We believe in creating an experience that connects people with the roots of Indonesian cuisine, celebrating not only the flavours but also the cultural richness that unites us as a nation.”

Open daily for breakfast from 6.30 AM to 10.30 AM, and for dinner from 6 PM to 10.30 PM, ROSO Restaurant offers diners an opportunity to experience the Indonesian archipelago through its food that coalesces the distinct tastes of its many regions.
