Luxury dining ‘sanctuary’ minutes from Oxford Street
Chef Lisa Goodwin-Allen next week opens a Mediterranean-style all-day restaurant with a large terrace inspired by ‘Milanese piazzas and Riviera promenades’ that overlooks a landscaped garden, just a couple of minutes’ walk from the hustle of Oxford Street.
Pearl, in Mayfair’s Brown Hart Gardens, close to Selfridges, is a standalone venue adjacent to and part of the luxury Beaumont hotel, which has been transformed under CEO Stuart Procter’s ambitious plans to make it one of London’s top four hotels.
He says of Pearl: “This launch is about more than just a restaurant; it is about revitalising a unique piece of Mayfair’s history. We are creating a world-class dining destination but also a beautiful public sanctuary for the people of Mayfair and beyond.”
The menu will be based around “fish, oysters, caviar, delicious monkfish, sea bass – that kind of thing”, he says. It will also be available for takeaway to cater to office workers and shoppers in the area.
Lisa, who is also chef-patron director of Lancashire heavyweight Northcote near Blackburn, was appointed culinary director at the Beaumont early last summer, and opened her first restaurant there in October, the retro-British-themed Rosi, which replaced the former Colony Grill.
