Forst Beer on the Italian Excellence Stamp

The South Tyrolean brewery, with nearly 170 years of history, is the first independent brewery chosen by Poste Italiane for its Made in Italy series.

Since the beginning of September, Forst Brewery has officially entered the country's postal history. Poste Italiane has dedicated a stamp to the Lagundo brewery from the "Excellence of the Production System and Made in Italy" series, the annual award that honors companies that have contributed to building the national manufacturing identity. Forst is the first independent Italian brewery to appear in this collection.

A stamp for a family business

The recognition comes to a company that has remained in the same family for nearly 170 years, a detail that is far from a given in the world of industrial beer. Cellina von Mannstein, member of the board of directors, commented on the news by calling it a tribute "to an independent Italian entrepreneurial tradition founded on quality, authenticity, and passion."

The stamp is available in a limited edition at post offices and official Poste Italiane channels, accompanied by a dedicated philatelic folder. According to the company, there is already a high demand from collectors: those involved in philately know that limited editions tied to historic companies tend to disappear quickly from the shelves.

It's not the first time between stamps and canoes

Forst, it must be said, is no stranger to this kind of coquetry. In the past, it had already created a personalized philatelic cover dedicated to canoeing, a discipline linked to competitions on the Passirio River that the company has supported for years. In short, the connection with philately is not new.

Confirming the interest in the sector, the Forst Beer Pavilion is currently hosting the exhibition "Stories 2026," dedicated to the private collection of Sebastian Felderer, one of the most renowned philatelists of his generation in Europe. A brewery opening its doors to stamps is, at the very least, a welcome addition to the food and wine world.

The appointment in the Christmas Forest

Those who missed the issue will have a second chance at the next edition of the Forst Christmas Forest, the company's Christmas event in South Tyrol. A post office will be set up among the village's huts where you can purchase the dedicated folder, send postcards, and, over a gastronomic specialty and a glass of traditional Christmas Beer, participate in family-friendly activities.

The event also falls on the eve of an important year: in 2027, Forst will celebrate its 170th anniversary. The stamp, after all, arrives just in time to cover the birthday party invitations.
