Recipe for cheese-stuffed sausage.

Preparation time: 30 minutes (+1 hour in the refrigerator). Serves: 4. Difficulty: Easy.

Ingredients

  • 8 fresh Tuscan sausages
  • 2 cloves of chopped garlic
  • 2 tablespoons of chopped fresh rosemary
  • 4 thick slices of mozzarella
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil

Preparation method

  • Remove the casings from the sausages and place the meat in a bowl. Separate the sausages with your fingers and add the garlic and rosemary.
  • Mix well until the ingredients are combined. Then, pour the mixture into a medium rectangular baking dish that has been lined with plastic wrap.
  • Press the dough firmly with a spatula and cover the baking dish. Refrigerate for 1 hour.
  • After this time, cut the mixture into eight squares. Place a slice of mozzarella in the center of each square and cover it with another piece of dough.
  • Press down firmly on the sides to close the sausage and prevent the cheese from leaking out during cooking.
  • Heat a large frying pan with olive oil and brown the sausages over medium heat for about 4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
  • Serve it immediately and enjoy the cheese-stuffed sausage at your weekend barbecue!
