A festive gourmet bar in Saint-Gilles, with an open kitchen and undulating tables
The gourmet bar run by Emeline Carré, Alexander Duke and Geoffrey Doré combines loud music, an open kitchen and a natural wine list.
The gourmet bar is run by the trio of Emeline Carré (wine and service), Alexander Duke (cocktails and service), and Geoffrey Doré (in the kitchen). A dance-floor-style sound system sets the mood, and the wavy tables, part Pro-Mo and part retro, complete the festive atmosphere.
In the open kitchen come dishes such as an oyster shot with yuzu, hazelnut and kaffir lime salt; cockles with atemi polenta, sage and Vietnamese pepper sauce; and a spoonful of baked egg with mussels, chestnuts and oyster mushrooms, chawanmushi style.
There are also black cod loin fish fingers in the Neo-Cantochard style, to dip in a spicy red curry whipped cream, and a wild duck wrapped in its celeriac puree and chili vinaigrette.
The wine list brings together proposals for all tastes: from the maceration of Garganega and Moscato Lügar from Finca Casa Balaguer (€45 per bottle) to the Auvergne red Le Mol from Patrick Bouju (€54), passing through the Alsatian orange Pépin from the barrel of Domaine Achillée (€6.50 per glass).
There are also beers (Illegaal, L'Ermitage or La Mule, from €3.50 to €5.50), cocktails (from €10 to €14), soft drinks (from €4 to €5) and digestifs (from €8 to €14).
Sharing dishes cost between €10 and €17, whole fish €26 and dessert €8.
