Beloved Dallas Dance Club Beauty Bar Shutters Permanently
Beauty Bar, the longtime Dallas club known for its dance-driven vibe, has closed its doors for good.

The bar announced its permanent departure in a Facebook post on October 1, citing the swirling shitshow that is 2020 as the reason behind its closure. Beauty Bar, like most nightlife establishments, has been closed for months in accordance with Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s order requiring bars and clubs to shutter in an effort to stem the COVID-19 pandemic.
After opening its doors on Henderson Avenue in 2010, Beauty Bar relocated to a bigger, sparklier space in Deep Ellum in April 2019, complete with a glittery dance floor. A stalwart of the city’s nightlife scene, the bar was founded by Dallas nightlife fixture Brooke Humphries, the mind behind popular spots like Mudsmith Coffee, Barcadia, and It’ll Do Club, and was a popular destination for DJ nights.
When the bar published the news of its closure on Facebook, Beauty Bar devotees responded with an outpouring of memories. “This was the very first bar I had ever been to. So many great memories from this place.” wrote one Facebook user. This is so sad.”
