El peculiar restaurante italiano Forza Win de Peckham, ubicado en un antiguo almacén, cerrará temporalmente

Forza Win began as a fledgling rooftop supper club at Truman Brewery, with Bash Redford in partnership with Thom and James Elliott of Pizza Pilgrims. It lasted two weeks before being shut down for breaching building regulations. The project continued at Oval Space in Bethnal Green, then at The Culpeper on Commercial Street, and finally at The Princess Alice.

In Peckham, the restaurant gained fame for its excellent pasta and simple, sometimes ingenious, Italian dishes, all prepared with care. Among them, the Custard stands out, a combination of custard and espresso that started as a joke and ended up becoming a cult classic on the menu.

Following the opening of Forza Wine, his sister restaurant, Redford explained that this development had allowed him to focus on what truly mattered to him in the restaurant world: “The supper club business washed its hands of me. I had an incredible brand presence (it became an escape for me, in the sense that at Culpeper I had to wear just one hat), but at Forza I could say, ‘Here’s a natural wine, it’s delicious, try it.’ That’s the hat I believe in, and I wasn’t as comfortable wearing the old one. I find some parts of the industry really empty: the hospitality side, being in the restaurant you’ve created and making sure you know every detail, every single person who works there, I love that.”
