Restaurant Incubator The Wash Announces First Tenants

Local commercial real estate investor and developer Tyler Cauble announced this week the first tenants for upcoming restaurant incubator the Wash — anticipated to open sometime this summer.

Five “micro restaurants” and one “micro bar” were announced via the Nashville Scene on Wednesday: ESP, The Poki, Soy Cubano, Tootsie Lou’s Tacos, Two Peruvian Chefs, and Bay 6 Bar. ESP is a second concept from Gracie Nguyen and Chad Newton of East Side Banh Mi, with more details forthcoming. The Poki offers Hawaiian poke bowls, while Soy Cubano gets a fixed space for its crowd favorite Cuban sandwiches, shrimp creole, and more. Austin-based Tootsie Lou’s Tacos focuses on in-house nixtamalized tortillas, and Two Peruvian Chefs serves traditional Peruvian cuisine. Bay 6 Bar is the incubator’s fast-casual cocktail bar.

Located at 1101 McKennie Avenue, Cauble’s intention for the Wash is to give short-term lease options to chefs and restaurant owners who might not be ready to invest in a permanent space. Terms of the leases are not being disclosed, and some of the businesses are set to open by August.
