Easter Pastry Bunnies with Nutella & Mascarpone Honey Cream

Easter Pastry Bunnies with Nutella & Mascarpone Honey Cream

Easter bunny pastries made with puff pastry and Nutella are a fun and delicious treat that kids absolutely love.

Ingredients · Servings 2
  • 1 package puff pastry
  • 200 g Nutella
  • granulated sugar
  • 1 lightly beaten egg
  • whipped cream ((or mascarpone honey cream - see below))
  • 200 g mascarpone
  • 30-50 g honey (to taste)
  • pistachios (optional)
Method · 32 min
  1. Preheat the oven to 185°C (365°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry and spread Nutella over half of the sheet. Fold the other half over to cover the filling.
  3. Cut into strips about 2.5 cm (1 inch) wide, then gently twist each strip. Place them on the prepared baking tray.
  4. Brush with beaten egg, sprinkle with sugar, and bake for 15–17 minutes, until golden and crisp.
  5. For a playful finish, add a bunny “tail” using whipped cream or mascarpone honey cream (see below).
  6. Mix the mascarpone until smooth, then add honey to taste. Sprinkle with chopped pistachios if desired.
  7. It’s hard to think of an easier Easter dessert—quick to make, fun to serve, and always a hit with kids and adults alike.

I told my kids I had a surprise for them, without giving away any details. When they came home from school and kindergarten, they were completely won over—not just by how cute the bunnies looked, but especially by how good they tasted. After all, they’re made with puff pastry and Nutella… what’s not to love?

Even better, these pastries are ready in just 30 minutes, including baking. You only need a sheet of puff pastry and a few generous spoonfuls of Nutella to create a dessert that looks impressive but is incredibly easy to make.

For a playful finishing touch, add a “bunny tail” made from whipped cream or mascarpone honey cream. It’s hard to think of an Easter dessert that’s quicker, easier, and more fun to serve.

Tip: You can also use a homemade or sugar-free chocolate spread instead of Nutella.

A must-try for baking with (and for) kids!
