Èno Florence Wine Excellence, the second edition in Florence
At the Fortezza da Basso on Sunday, September 20th and Monday, September 21st. Eleven masterclasses, two dedicated areas, and a lounge space for networking. Among the new features is a collaboration with the Ararat restaurant for Armenian wines.
Florence is preparing to host the second edition of èno Florence Wine Excellence, the event dedicated to the world of wine, scheduled for Sunday, September 20th and Monday, September 21st at the Fortezza da Basso. The event was presented to the press this morning at Palazzo degli Affari, with an even larger turnout than its debut in 2025: over 350 wineries will be present and more than 1,400 wines will be available for tasting, spread across two days dedicated to industry professionals and wine lovers.
Sunday will be open to trade visitors and enthusiasts, while Monday will be reserved for professionals. Highlighting the growth of èno FWE was Lorenzo Becattini, president of Firenze Fiera, who expressed his hope for a successful second edition, calling the event a project "that has seen growth compared to last year's edition and is a bridge to the future."
The success of the first edition
After greetings from Adriana Tancredi, event manager, also on behalf of President Corrado Guerranti, who was unable to attend but was deeply committed to the project, Simone Tacconi, vice president, recalled the outcome of the first edition. "The first edition was a great satisfaction," Tacconi explained, "because we saw the interest the event had generated. Last year, we had already sold out within two or three months. So we started again with great enthusiasm."
This result is confirmed by the second edition's numbers and the desire to make Florence a hub for producers, restaurateurs, buyers, distributors, sommeliers, and enthusiasts. The Fortezza da Basso thus returns to being the center of the project, following its debut in 2025.
Eleven Masterclasses to go beyond tasting
Alongside the tasting tables, one of the central elements of èno FWE will be the program of 11 Masterclasses, presented by organizing partner Sergio Bianchini. "We've created a packed but enjoyable program," Bianchini explained, "with the idea of bringing together territory, icons, and appellations." The Masterclasses will be led by Bernardo Conticelli and Filippo Bartolotta and will explore some of the most interesting regions of the international wine scene, from Jura to Champagne, all the way to the great wines and key appellations.
Four events are scheduled for Sunday and seven for Monday, with a format designed to offer in-depth learning opportunities for both enthusiasts and professionals. "The Masterclasses are an opportunity to build knowledge for those who sell, produce, and drink wine," Bianchini emphasized. "The aim is to build bridges between professionals and enthusiasts." The program thus confirms one of the distinctive features of èno FWE: combining tastings with opportunities for learning and discussion, in a journey that focuses on territories, appellations, producers, and people. The official program for this edition includes two areas dedicated to the Masterclasses and a lounge space for meetings and networking.
Simplicity as a value and as a method
Andrea Tagliafraschi, an organizing member, also spoke, emphasizing the human dimension underlying the project and the collaboration between those involved. "We're friends first and foremost. In this case, it was simple: when we presented the project, it was very well received." Simplicity was highlighted as a potential unifying factor for the event and a value to bring back to the world of wine: "Simplicity is useful to the world of wine."
This concept ties in with the aim of èno FWE to create concrete relationships between stakeholders in the supply chain. This event, in addition to its exhibition dimension, aims to be, above all, a place for meeting and discussion, where relationships can be built that will last beyond the two days at the Fortezza.
From Tuscany to Armenia, a look beyond borders
Among the collaborations presented during the press conference was one with the Ararat restaurant, dedicated to Armenian wines. Adriana Tancredi described the collaboration as "curious and extremely interesting," including it in the èno FWE program as a small window into a winemaking world less familiar to the Italian public. This contribution enriches an event focused precisely on the possibility of connecting different identities, cultures, and interpretations of wine.
Two days at the Fortezza da Basso
Èno Florence Wine Excellence 2026 will take place on Sunday, September 20th and Monday, September 21st at the Fortezza da Basso in Florence, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The first day will be dedicated to industry professionals and wine lovers; on Monday, the 21st, access will be reserved for industry professionals. With over 350 wineries, more than 1,400 wines for tasting, 11 masterclasses, and a program designed to foster professional meetings and networking, the second edition represents a further step in the growth of èno FWE and the creation of a dedicated wine event in the heart of Florence.
The event dedicated to Modena Balsamic Vinegar PGI and Modena Traditional Balsamic Vinegar PDO returns on Sunday, September 27th. 43 vinegar producers and local businesses will be involved, offering tours, tastings, and experiences among vineyards, barrels, and tradition.
From September 24th to 27th, Foligno hosts the 27th edition of the national festival dedicated to pasta and Italian first courses. Over 70 events, 15 locations, and the historic taverns of the Quintana transformed into Villages of Taste for a journey through recipes, products, and regional traditions.
On September 19th and 20th, Gorgonzola, just outside Milan, hosts the National Gorgonzola Festival. Behind the distinctive blue-green veining of the DOP cheese lies a delicate balance of lactic acid bacteria, yeasts, and selected molds, also the result of microbiological research.
Volterragusto returns with the 28th White Truffle and Typical Products of the Upper Valdicecina Market Exhibition: October 24-25 and October 31-November 1, 2026. Tastings, show cooking, truffle hunting, and the Jarro Award through the streets of the Etruscan city.
From October 9th to 11th, "Magici Intrecci Autunnali" returns: fine craftsmanship, green culture, and small-scale agricultural production in a charming private manor, inhabited and cared for by the same family who built it over a thousand years ago.
From September 19th to 27th, eight days of celebration with a packed program of events. Now in its 64th edition, the historic Potenza event celebrating the traditional grape harvest ritual.
