A winery in the interior of São Paulo surpasses its “siblings” and wins 3 gold medals at Argentina's main wine competition

São Paulo wine is experiencing a golden age. Once again, a producer from the state has received international recognition! Casa Soncini, a winery located on the shores of the Jurumirim reservoir, has just won three awards at Vinus 2026 — the International Wine and Spirits Competition of Mendoza, the most traditional in Argentina.

This is not the first time that Casa Soncini has put São Paulo on the map of major global brands, demonstrating that São Paulo's wine industry can compete on equal footing with brands from around the world.

A winery in São Paulo achieves historic recognition at Vinus 2026

Casa Soncini has managed to have three of its white wines awarded at the same event, becoming the first winery in the interior of São Paulo to achieve this milestone.

The highlight of the competition was the "Fumée Blanc," the winery's only 100% Sauvignon Blanc. The wine, which received a Double Gold Medal after achieving an impressive score of 96 points, spends eight months in first-use French oak barrels. This process imparts aromas of peach, apricot, passion fruit, and guava, along with a medium-to-full body, a smooth texture, and a long finish.

In addition, the winery has won two more gold medals with outstanding scores. The classic "Sauvignon Blanc 2024" earned 91 points thanks to its acidity, grapefruit notes, and minerality. Similarly, the newly released "Jurumirim 2024" achieved the same score and took home the gold.

Casa Soncini: a trajectory marked by international medals

The award in Argentina is no surprise, as Casa Soncini had already achieved significant success on the European circuit. In April 2026, the winery in the interior of São Paulo received the Gold Medal at the Vinalies Internationales, a prestigious competition in Cannes, France. On that occasion, the international jury highlighted the "Casa Soncini Syrah Rosé 2024," a wine with freshness and an aromatic profile of red fruits.
