Movies, gourmet popcorn, and champagne at Rome's small Eden cinema
Cinema, gourmet popcorn, and champagne at the Eden Hotel in Rome. The Eden Hotel in Rome has a great idea: not only does it create a luxury vintage cinema with a film-lover's program, but it also adds a fun menu, curated by Fabio Ciervo, executive chef at the Eden.
It begins with Fellini's "La Dolce Vita" (February 19-23) and ends in style with Sorrentino's "The Great Beauty." The arthouse program begins February 19, 2020, and ends May 17. The "Libreria lobby lounge" at Rome's Hotel Eden is transformed into a unique vintage cinema, the "Piccolo Cinema Eden" (no relation to the Eden Film Center in Piazza Cola di Rienzo): a theater with just 24 seats open to the public and not just hotel guests on Wednesdays (at 7:30 pm) and Sundays (with two showings, at 3:30 pm and 7:30 pm). Here's the deal: the €20 ticket includes gourmet popcorn from Fabio Ciervo, executive chef at Hotel Eden, and a small bottle of champagne. The hotel has also provided an optional Sunday brunch and aperitif. The film festival is curated by Chez Dede (the creative duo Andrea Ferolla and Daria Reina) and features films by Magni, Monicelli, and De Sica, all centered around Rome. All films are in their original language with subtitles.
