Purify the air this Christmas with Dyson

Purify the air this Christmas with Dyson

The holidays are upon us, and so is the time spent in the kitchen preparing appetizers, lunches, and dinners to share with family and friends.

The air we breathe indoors can contain numerous substances potentially harmful to our health: particles such as dust, allergens, and pet dander, gases, volatile organic compounds, and benzene. Even the air in kitchens can be polluted: just consider that one of the sources of indoor pollution is cooking fumes and certain food preparation methods. Frying, for example, can release fine and ultrafine particulates, while some products used to clean surfaces can contain VOCs: limonene, one of the compounds that gives cleaning products their citrus scent, can react with natural ozone in the home to create formaldehyde, a potentially harmful gas 500 times smaller than PM 0.1 particulates and particularly difficult to capture.

Dyson purifiers capture dust, allergens, and cooking odors, removing 99.95% of ultrafine particles and purifying the air throughout the room thanks to 350-degree oscillation. What's captured stays trapped, thanks to the advanced HEPA-certified filtration system that also absorbs gases and odors. Furthermore, the catalytic filter continuously destroys formaldehyde. Thanks to three intelligent sensors, the Dyson Pure Hot+Cool purifying fan heater automatically detects particles and gases in the air. The LCD screen displays them in real time and also indicates the room temperature, which can be adjusted depending on the time of day and your needs. With the Dyson Link app, you can monitor indoor and outdoor air quality in real time, view historical data, check the temperature, and set schedules according to your needs.

Italian tradition dictates that Christmas Eve dinner be lean. So, no meat, and instead, fish and vegetable dishes. We offer an easy-to-make recipe that everyone loves, including children and vegetarian guests: Roman-style mixed fried vegetables, golden brown, crispy, and, thanks to Dyson, free of unpleasant odors and dangerous consequences in the home.

Ingredients: mixed raw vegetables, peanut oil, flour, sparkling water, salt.

Directions: Wash and dry the vegetables thoroughly (prefer seasonal ones, such as artichokes, fennel, carrots, and broccoli). Chop them into small pieces and set aside. Heat plenty of oil in a high-sided pan (the vegetables should be well submerged). Prepare a batter by mixing the flour and cold sparkling water in a bowl with a fork (the batter shouldn't be too runny; it should slide easily off the fork and be smooth). Add the vegetables to the oil and fry them, a few at a time, until golden brown. Drain on paper towels, season with salt, and serve hot.
