Simple banana bread

Simple banana bread

You don't have to go to a cafe to get a soft banana bread, you can easily bake it at home using our recipe. Making banana bread is also a great way to use up overripe bananas that would otherwise go to waste. You can also add chocolate chips or chopped nuts to the dough. It couldn't be easier!

Ingredients · Servings For 1 sandwich
  • 80 ml vegetable oil
  • 110 g brown sugar
  • 200 g plain wheat flour
  • 3 tsp baking powder
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch of cinnamon
  • 30 g dark chocolate
  • 30 g nuts
Method · 1 h 15 min
  1. Preheat the oven to 180 °C. Grease a 23 x 10 cm loaf tin well with butter.
  2. Place the bananas in a bowl and mash with a fork.
  3. Cut the vanilla pod lengthwise and scrape out the seeds with a knife.
  4. Beat the oil with the brown sugar and eggs until fluffy.
  5. Mix the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon and vanilla bean seeds and fold into the oil, sugar and egg mixture.
  6. Finally, stir in the mashed banana. Pour the batter into a greased pan and bake in the preheated oven for about 55 minutes.
  7. After baking, let the banana bread cool completely before removing it from the mold. Cut the banana bread into approximately 15 slices. Photo and recipe taken from Einfach backen.
