Modus Brewing launches a beer designed entirely by artificial intelligence

Modus Brewing developed this limited edition in collaboration with Absolutely AI. According to the brewery, the artificial intelligence generated a recipe based on its understanding of "what makes a perfect East Coast IPA," drawing on hundreds of thousands of reviews.

The name, label, and tasting notes were also the work of an AI program.

Cameron Mackey, Modus' master brewer, stated: "AI-brewed beer is a testament to the power of current technology and innovation in the brewing industry."

Mackey added, “For me and my team, working with Absolutely Ai, which I initially thought would be a robotic tyrant, turned out to be a very rewarding experience. We have a beer recipe and direction that we’re excited to share with our fans in this limited edition. The AI ​​has impressed us with its knowledge and understanding. Nothing can replace the human element or the need for the natural senses in brewing.”

The tasting notes, also generated by AI, describe a tropical paradise in every sip: a balance between the sweetness of the malt and the bitterness of the hops, with hints of grapefruit, orange, and passion fruit. Its texture is smooth and its finish refreshing, and it's suggested to pair it with spicy dishes.
